Why did you get involved with roller derby?

My friend Kirsty “Fu” Quinn said she was starting a team and asked if I wanted to join. I googled Roller Derby and thought hell yes!

Keeping things fun and not taking things too seriously. Roller Derby is a hobby – not a profession

Tell us about yourself

I’ve been with the Cats since the team started in 2009 and I’m one of the few original members left. I’ve taken on many roles in the team including Chair and Captain.

Outside of skating, I work for a bookies looking after their VIP’s. I love bourbon, watching Ru Paul’s Drag Race and collecting things with moustaches on

What would you say to someone thinking of starting roller derby?

Don’t let your fears or insecurities hold you back. Roller Derby is a sport for absolutely anyone, no matter your size,shape or fitness level. It will definitely change your life for the better!
