Wakey Wheeled Cats have announced their A-team captains for 2017 as they start the next British Champs season in Tier 4 North.
Dan Millea has been re-elected as captain for this year. Dan has been with the Cats since the team was founded in 2009 and this will be her second year running as the travel team captain.
“I’m so honoured to be voted in as Captain again! This year we are back in Tier 4 and playing against local teams rather than travelling the country, which definitely removes some stress (though sadly we lose the road trips!). Our first game this year has seen us jump 116 places in the European league, so I am totally excited to see where we go from here. The team is settling down into a groove and our ‘Pie Mind’ is as strong as ever, I have all the high hopes for this years’ Champs season and beyond.”

Claire Johnson will be taking on the role of Vice Captain.
“I’m so honoured that my team voted me Vice Captain for this season and I’m thankful every time I step out on track with such an inspiring bunch of skaters We’ve worked hard to come together as a unit and I can already see the work paying off, I think 2017 is going to be a great year for us! Cats Cats Knack em!”
Claire Johnson, Vice Captain
The Cats started their 2017 Champs season with a home game against Durham Rolling Angels earlier this month. The match saw the Cats biggest win to date with a 540 to 17 score, moving them 116 places up the European rankings to 174th.
